Despite Tuesday Funk,
Bill is off in Amsterdam
to see Rush. Jealous?

Later in the show, Andrew read two more haiku, remarking on the weather we'd been having:

A nursery rhyme:
Rain, rain, go away. Please don't
ruin Memorial Day.

Beginning of June
isn't normally this cold.
What will July bring?

Our readings take place at Hopleaf Bar, 5148 N. Clark St. in Chicago. We get started promptly at 7:30 pm in the upstairs lounge. Arrive early if you want a seat—but no earlier than 7:00 pm. Our readings are free, but only those 21 and over will be admitted. No food can be brought in from the restaurant. See you there!

Heather Corallo is an actress, writer, musician, cook, and triathlete. She's also a FemCom graduate, a Kate, and a Writer Girl. G.P.A. (Greatest Poet Alive), the Phenomenal Poetic Unsub, hails from Chicago, IL. He has written four books of poetry—The Confessional Heart of a Man, The Book of 24 Orgasms, The Mind of a Poetic Unsub, and the recently released Revenge of the Orgasm (An Erotic Autobiography). G.P.A. has won the Poetry Pentathlon, the Black Essence Award, and the Moth Storytelling Championship. He is also the host of Poetry's Love Letter, an open mic on every second Friday at Let Them Eat Chocolate in nearby Bowmanville.

Darwyn Jones
Darwyn Jones's fiction has appeared in Hypertext Magazine, Windy City Times, Hair Trigger, SIN: A Deadly Anthology, and Grimm and Grimmer: Dark Tales for Dark Times. His more blurby writings have found their way into Chicago's entertainment website Metromix.com and the Not for Tourists Guide to Chicago.

He's a company member of the storytelling series 2nd Story and frequently reads at Reading Under the Influence (RUI). He often tells stories about his own family. They know this. They don't like it.

Mare Swallow is the Founder and Executive Director of the Chicago Writers Conference, as well as a professional public speaker and public speaking coach. She's the author of "25 Ways to Engage Your Audience," and is currently writing a book that aims to help liberal arts majors get jobs after college.
