February 2026 Debrief

Dawn Angelicca Barcelona at Tuesday Funk

We love that Chicagoans don't let the bitter cold keep them home during the winter! The house was full for Tuesday Funk on Feb. 3, and our readers felt their warmth. Robin Billadeau led us off with some flash fiction and poetry. Next, Robert Loerzel gave us a breakdown of the religious implications and inconsistencies of the film It's a Wonderful Life. Then Dawn Angelicca Barcelona shared poems about sisters, religious angst, and aliens.

After the intermission, cohost Andrew Huff read some topical haiku (as shared previously), and PJ Bauman read an essay about being seen and heard in transit. Cohost Erin Watson toasted neighbors with tools to loan. Last but not least, Lori Rader-Day shared a chapter from her latest novel, Wreck Your Heart.

Tuesday Funk will be back in the upstairs lounge at Hopleaf on March 3! Join us for readings by Elizabeth Marley, Ted McClelland, Mar Romasco-Moore, Jenn Sodini, and Joy Wright!
