Meet the Readers: Ben Gucciardi

Ben Gucciardi teaches writing, print and video journalism at Whitney Young where he also coached the school’s state champion Academic Decathlon team from 2019 to 2025. Before teaching, he was a member of the Wisconsin-based indie rock band Sat. Nite Duets, whose work has been featured in GQ, Stereogum, and, for some reason, M. Night Shyamalan’s 2015 dementia-themed horror film The Visit. When not thinking about student writing, grading student writing, or performing Voight-Kampff tests on student writing, he enjoys writing himself and is grateful to Tuesday Funk for the opportunity to read publicly for the first time in almost ten years.
