Meet the Readers: Eliza Marley
Eliza Marley is a Chicago based folklorist and fiction writer. She is the author of the book, You Shouldn't Worry About the Frogs (Querencia Press 2023). Her work has been featured in Red Ogre Review, Chaotic Merge Magazine, and Stoneboat Journal among others. Her work is deeply influenced by magical realism, surrealism, and folktale forms. Eliza is a second year PhD student in the program for writers at UIC. Eliza collects and studies ghost stories and climate literature, interested in how haunted places and their construction can be used as attunement for climate crisis. She can often be found haunting the Chicago River in a kayak herself.
Please join Eliza and our other excellent readers on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 in the upstairs bar at Hopleaf. Doors open at 7pm, and the show starts at 7:30. It's free, and 21-and-over. Please RSVP on Facebook.
