Meet the Readers: PJ Bauman
Piper June (PJ) Bauman is a trans visual artist, essayist, and avid fan of many soups including a good Butternut Squash, Caldo Verde, Tomato Bisque, or really any sort of Gumbo. A recent Chicago transplant, Piper has spent the last few months sniffing around to find enough money for her next sea-creature themed tattoo, and can often be found wandering uptown with a camera or stale loaf of bread.
Graduating in 2023 from University of Michigan’s film program with a specialization in documentary, Piper hopes for the next step to be an MFA in creative writing. If you know anywhere ideal, hit her up. Her stickers and doodles can already be found around the city, and are spreading fast. If you want one, also hit her up.
Please join Piper and our other sensational readers on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 in the upstairs bar at Hopleaf. Doors open at 7pm, and the show starts at 7:30. It's free, and 21-and-over. Please RSVP on Facebook.
