Meet the Readers: Robert Loerzel

Robert Loerzel is a freelance journalist, copy editor, historian, and photographer. He was born in Alaska. He lives in Uptown. His books include Alchemy of Bones: Chicago’s Luetgert Murder Case of 1897 and The Uptown: Chicago’s Endangered Movie Palace. His reporting has included articles for Chicago magazine, the Tribune, and WBEZ’s Curious City. He co-wrote two episodes of the documentary series "Chicago Stories" on WTTW. He frequently posts photos and videos of local wildlife on Instagram and BlueSky, and he is trying to make a movie about Chicago coyotes. Learn more at RobertLoerzel.com.
