Meet the Readers: Courtney Justus

Courtney Justus was born in Houston, Texas, raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina and now lives in Chicago. She earned her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where she received the Jason Alexander Bradford Award. She is a Tin House YA Workshop alumna, a Best of the Net nominee, and a recipient of residencies from Sundress Academy for the Arts and the Weymouth Center for the Arts and Humanities. She was a three-time finalist for the James Hurst Prize for Fiction and a finalist for the Reynolds Price Fiction Award. She currently works as a fundraiser at a social services nonprofit. Her work appears in Barrelhouse, Stonecoast Review, Whale Road Review, Defunkt Magazine and elsewhere.
