Meet the Readers: Elizabeth Joy Levinson

Meet the Readers: Elizabeth Joy Levinson

Elizabeth Joy Levinson is an accidental high school biology teacher in Chicago. She is supposed to be an English teacher, but if she's being honest, she's just as happy discussing insects as she is poetry. Her work has appeared in Whale Road Review, SWWIM, One Art, The Shore, Thimble, Wild Roof, Verse Daily, and elsewhere. She is the author of a full-length collection, Uncomfortable Ecologies, available from Unsolicited Press, as well as two chapbooks: Running Aground (Finishing Line Press) and As Wild Animals (Dancing Girl Press), and most recently, Thigmonasty, a micro-chapbook published this summer as part of Ghost City Press's summer series.

Please join Elizabeth and our other great readers on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025 in the upstairs bar at Hopleaf. Doors open at 7pm, and the show starts at 7:30. It's free, and 21-and-over. Please RSVP on Facebook.
