September 2026 Debrief

The first of September was hot and humid, but the air conditioning in the upstairs lounge of Hopleaf did its job, and the crowd at the 174th edition of Tuesday Funk were cool indeed.

Erin J. Watson pulled double duty as cohost and lead-off reader, sharing her brand-new zine, Salad Days Online. Next, Teresa Dzieglewicz read several poems from her book, Something Small of How to See a River. Then PJ Gray told a hilarious story about seeing the Air & Water Show from a high-rise.

We took a break, and Erin and Andrew did their usual toast and topical haiku, respectively, and Kathleen Rooney read from her latest novel, Man Overboard!

Unfortunately C. Russell Price was unable to attend, but they'll be in our October 6 show instead. Which you should definitely attend, as it will also feature Shivani Gupta, Darshita Jain, Srikanth "Chicu" Reddy, and Carly Travis. Hope to see you there!
