Meet the Readers: Dan Sinker
Dan Sinker is a writer, maker, podcaster, and professional troublemaker who does work that attempts to make sense of a world that rarely does. At 19 years old he founded the influential underground magazine Punk Planet, which he ran for 13 years. In 2011, he gained notoriety as the creator of the satirical @MayorEmanuel Twitter account, later adapted into a book. As a freelance writer, Dan has contributed to publications like The Atlantic, the New York Times, and Esquire, where he has written about everything from covid to professional wrestling. He is the co-creator of the long-running current events podcast Says Who with the YA author Maureen Johnson, and the producer of the award-winning Rebel Spirit podcast with Akilah Hughes. He is currently working on the book I HATE THOSE MASKED BASTARDS! Terror, Truth, and the Editor that Took on the Klan for Haymarket Books.
