November 2026 Debrief
As the election polls closed, the doors opened at Tuesday Funk on Nov. 3. Our audience packed the upstairs lounge at Hopleaf on an unusually warm evening, eager for the welcome distraction of quality live lit.
Sarah Steimer broke the ice with a funny essay arguing against game night. Next, Chris Vanjonack read a haunting short story about a strange case of double possession. Then Bridget Gordon recited poems about queer love, politics and safety.
We took a short break for refreshments, and cohost Erin led us in a toast to the simple joy of the I Voted sticker. Michal Eskayo shared an essay about a trip to Sarejevo, recovered memories and identity. Cohost Andrew read a couple of topical haiku, and Weston Morrow closed out the evening by reading poems from his book Cloud Builder.
Please join us on Tuesday, Dec. 1 for the last night of eclectic live lit of 2026! We'll feature readings by Alex Kingsley, Robert Mcdonald, Gloria Rabil and Michelle Young. Hope to see you there!
